BREAKING: SpaceXAI just released a new update for Grok Build, v1.0.46

This update brings faster startup, fewer delays on network drives and clearer progress updates.
It also fixes MCP reporting, tool-search summaries, rule handling, token counts and video playback.

Performance

• list_dir on network or virtual filesystems now skips slow subtree counts and prints a notice instead.
• Session startup is faster when loading skills from large directories and shows what it is doing instead of a generic spinner.

Bug Fixes

• MCP server sources are now correctly reported by grok inspect and the MCP doctor.
• Tool search activity now correctly folds as "Ran N tool searches" instead of claiming MCP tool results.
• Client rules supplied at session start are now preserved when the system prompt is rebuilt later.
• Permission rules with relative paths now correctly apply even when the cwd contains symlinks.
• Context compacted line now shows the correct token count immediately after compaction instead of at the end of a long turn.
• Enter on video cards no longer attempts playback in terminals that cannot show it or lack ffmpeg.
• Video cards now open the file in the default player on Enter in terminals without inline playback support, and no longer get stuck trying to extract posters without ffmpeg.
