New York’s artificial-intelligence boom is drawing massive investments and fueling a surge in office leasing, but it’s doing little for young workers trying to start their careers, according to a report by the Partnership for New York City.
AI companies leased more than 2.2 million square feet of city office space in the first half of 2026, more than double the amount leased in all of 2025. Startups focused on the technology also raised a record $16.7 billion in venture capital in 2025, trailing only the San Francisco Bay Area, according to the report due to be released Friday.
