McCormick Climbs on Sales; Constellation Energy Gains on Amazon Deal | Stock Movers

On this episode of Stock Movers: - McCormick (MKC) shares rose after the company posted its strongest sales since 2021, with third-quarter net sales increasing 17% to $2.02 billion. - Accenture (ACN) shares are moving higher after the IT services company reported fourth-quarter results that beat expectations on key metrics, including revenue and bookings. - Constellation Energy (CEG) is gaining after the operator of gas power plants said it signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Amazon, which covers 690 megawatts of nuclear capacity at Maryland’s Calvert Cliffs Clean Energy Center, including a 190-megawatt uprate.

So when I chose McCormick earlier, it was up 3%.

I look now only up about half a percent. But you know what?

It's still a mover. It is still a mover.

The stock was down about 32% year to date.

So ahead of its earnings report today. So this is the packaged food maker.

We know what it spices prices are. They saw their share price slump

recently because high gas prices you know stubborn inflation straining

consumer budgets. But here they are coming out with a

pretty nice earnings report. Uh strongest sales since 2021.

Uh gross profit uh rose to about $750 million.

Uh, so, uh, the stock is was getting a nicer bump up earlier, but it's pulling

back just a little bit now and seems to be outperforming its rivals, at least

when it comes to this latest quarterly earnings report.

Based in Hunt Valley, Maryland, right outside Baltimore.

Um, 14,000 employees. It's nice.

All right, let's move on to Accenture because that stock is definitely a mover

to the upside is up about 18% premarket. This is a Dublin based tech consulting

company. It said fourth quarter results beat

expectations on some key metrics including revenue and bookings.

So revenue tied to media communications technology jumped 11%.

Also, guidance was better than expected. We know Wall Street likes that.

And again, this stock has been getting hit down 32% year to date.

Why again it's the I story. There's concern on the street that the

company will not be able to show how how I can help its clients or how it's even

going to undergo a transition with AI impacting its business as an IT

consulting company. By the way, during the fourth quarter,

it announced deals with biggies Alphabet's Google Cloud, Anthropic and

Amazon. So that's lifting those the bookings

guidance there. All right.

Very good. And let's end with Constellation Energy

ticker symbol CEG. It is up 3%.

Um so it also has inked a deal with Amazon.

This is a 20 year power purchase. Now they didn't announce the price tag

on this deal but it is going to support the expansion continued investment in in

energy infrastructure in Maryland in the Calvert Cliffs Clean Energy Center.

It's Maryland's only nuclear plant, in case you were wondering.

Well, how many nuclear plants do they have?

They have one. And it will support more than $3 billion

of infrastructure investment in Wall Street.
