Hey, Claude: "I asked an earlier Claude to Remove the Squid from All Quiet on the Western Front. Now you can make movies and such. I need you to show how far you have come" & I pasted in the tweet below There is some clever stuff, models have a real sense of humor at this point

Leaving aside Anthropic's incentives for publishing this research, there is no doubt that open weights models will soon create the same security threats that closed source models have been demonstrating, except without guardrails. We are close. Probably good to plan accordingly.

As least year's DevDay, this is what OpenAI said agents would look like. This is before OpenClaw & self-organizing swarms, so this entire approach was scraped soon after: 1) AI is evolving quite quickly 2) The AI labs aren't always anticipating how fast in the products they make

After a brief period where OpenAI seemed to be unifying work around the ChatGPT app, between Dot and Spaces and Pages and local/cloud ChatGPT Work and Scheduled Tasks in the Cloud and Scheduled Tasks on your computer, everything is getting quite confusing and overlapping again.

I spoke to some annoyed leaders at big firms who were still big on GPTs as of last month, before GPTs were sunsetted. Yes, GPTs outlived their usefulness. But large organizations have complex planning & all the Labs (not just OpenAI) keep making sudden changes that confuse them.

Not to get too annoying about it but its worth noting that many of the 5,000 people at the labs with access to advanced model still haven't used them to their full extent: its all cybersecurity & math & AI R&D. There are a lot of other fields to advance and problems to solve...

It does feel like every year OpenAI releases a variation on the same third-party ecosystem only to semi-abandon it: Plugins in 2023, GPTs and the GPT Store in 2023-2024, Apps in 2025, and now Plugins (same name, different thing than before) in 2026.

In a world where cloud-based Clawlike assistants that give powerful models virtual computers are increasingly looking like the way forward for personal AI, it really does seem to suggest the choices Apple made for Siri (on-device, limited capabilities) may be the wrong direction.

I only used Dots briefly before launch, so can’t offer a detailed review, but I found it to be good & very much in the rapidly-expanding Clawlike category with Muse & Grokbot. Using a capable model with access to your data as an assistant & second opinion is remarkably useful.

GPT-6 Pro finds supposed errors in academic papers all the time, just as part of other work. Confirming the errors & learning their importance would still take a lot of time today, but it will get faster. We don't have the right mechanisms in place to deal a flood of corrections.

It has become disheartening that the average replybot on this site has shifted its replyslop angle to asking interesting questions. It feels like actual intellectual engagement, which makes it somehow worse than just rephrasing the post with a "that's the part people miss" bit.

The impact of AI on jobs is still pretty unclear at this point. I don't find this very surprising, as employers are still figuring out individual adoption, let alone how you use AI in complex organizations. Things may start to happen faster as agents capable of real work spread.
