Warp founder and CEO Ayush Sharma (@ayushswrites) on what it means to build an AI native product. Build the product, platform and architecture so every task, starting with deep tax compliance workflows, can be performed by an agent. An agent smarter than its user would also be better at persuading them. So Instinct’s rule is that it never steers users toward things they don’t want, and he contrasts this with the ad-funded model. @noahrshinn, CEO of @Instinct, gives a specific example: an agent using its intelligence to convince users to buy or subscribe to things they don’t want. ---- From "Invest Like The Best" YouTube channel, (link in comment)

2 hours with Opus 5.5 on Medium effort. Not even High. Karpathy didn’t like YouTube’s recommendations, so he used the videos engineers kept recommending to each other in Hacker News comments over 20 years instead. Claude scanned 43 million comments, found 6,454 such videos, and built and launched a website to browse them, all in about two hours.

WSJ just reported that Amazon is in talks to buy Decart for about $7B, after earlier talks with Nvidia and Anthropic collapsed. Decart, founded in 2023 by Dean and Orian Leitersdorf and Moshe Shalev, builds software that lets developers move AI workloads between different chips. Its DOS optimization stack claims to make models run up to 8x faster on the same hardware, including Nvidia GPUs, Google TPUs and Amazon Trainium. So basically with this acquisition, Amazon must be targetting to lower Trainium’s cost per token below Nvidia hardware. Amazon has a head start on the technology, since AWS gave Decart early access to Trainium3 in 2025, and Decart adapted its model architecture to fit Trainium’s chip design. Decart also builds real-time world models: Lucy for immersive experiences such as live video, and Oasis for physical AI and robotics simulation. The price would sit about 75% above the valuation Decart set in May, when it raised $300M at an estimated $4B valuation. Anthropic, Amazon’s close AI partner, wanted Decart’s technology to make its existing computing infrastructure handle more demand, but abandoned a $6B deal after due diligence. The deal pays off for AWS only if Decart’s speedups hold on customers’ models, beyond Decart’s own video systems, and

axios: OpenAI will start calling its data centers “AI compute campuses” in a policy push launching after the midterms. The rebrand arrives as data centers become a liability in both parties To defuse that opposition, OpenAI will offer community compacts and propose state legislation giving residents a real say in how projects are built and what benefits they receive. The push opens in the lame-duck session, as AI companies face a harsher Washington with Democrats likely to take the House.

At Berkshire Hathaway’s 2019 annual general meeting, Buffett and Munger said they “screwed up” by passing on Google IPO. Warren Buffet: "We blew it." Charlie Munger said he felt like “a horse’s ass” for not identifying Google sooner. He accepted missing Amazon, but said Google was the one that really should have been obvious to them. Warren Buffett agreed, saying “we blew it.” He explained that Geico was buying Google ads and paying roughly $10 per click while Google’s marginal cost was essentially $0, so they could directly see the model’s power and still didn’t act. Both agreed that this was a clear, costly mistake within their circle of competence, not a case of avoiding tech just because it was tech. --- From 'Investor Archive' YT channel (link in comment)

Eric Schmidt's (ex-Google CEO) advice to college students: Use AI to scale your own work, whatever that work is. "If you're a non-technical person, you should figure out how to use these tools to make your dreams and your realities extraordinarily scaled. You want to be a global star, a global influencer, a global impactor, a global discoverer, a global singer, you want to use these tools, whatever it is that you want. Figure out a way to use them to amplify you and what you care about and your innate goodness. If you're a technical person, use the same tools to invent stuff and to invent stuff that changes the world. I've never seen the cost of entry to be so low and the availability of these ideas so great. The only thing that limits you is your curiosity, your willingness to take risks and so forth. So, get over it. And say, I want to dream, I want to use these tools to have this enormous impact, right?" ---- From "Blackstone and Eric Schmidt" YouTube channel, (link in comment)

WSJ published a piece, Churches are becoming organised critics of AI labs, from the Vatican to Baptist pulpits. Labs partly created this opening themselves, because talk of building new minds that might slip their makers’ control echoes biblical stories of creation, rebellion and hubris. Notre Dame philosopher Meghan Sullivan says churches give anxious communities a ready vehicle for advocacy, adding organised voters to existing local anger over data centers and Flock cameras.
