How did the Dev Day Game Boy idea start?
There’s something pretty special about making a game and then holding it in your hands.
I’m glad we got to share that feeling with everyone there and wanted to recognize @ko_kuramoto and his team as part of how this started.
The first inspiration came from seeing Ko Kuramoto’s inventions and exploring ideas with him and the nanu team. I loved the tinkering: taking familiar hardware and asking what else it could do. We talked about connecting Codex to a Game Boy through a remote-control bridge.

That part never came together, but I really enjoyed those early conversations.
@dkundel had the idea to do something for DevDay. @DylanAbruscato pushed for every single person attending to get one and @thsottiaux needed little convincing.
That took us from tinkering with a concept to figuring out how to make thousands.
We ultimately worked with @modretro to bring it to DevDay, just as these models were getting really good at making games!
