He joined audio spaces here and shared openly. I have been seeing notes all day from people who knew and loved him in the tech industry. Just sadness.

Last time I went to their SF office party the networking with people building robots was extraordinary.

I want a bumper sticker that says: “I bought this robot BECAUSE I knew @elonmusk is crazy.” Hey @bot if I give you $100 can you make a bunch?

Tesla’s Optimus training regime leak. Workers in its Palo Alto R&D facility have been holding “robot university” for many months already. Press got it wrong when they said it just started up. Workers are wearing 24 lb suits with up to 40 cameras and grids of 3D sensors. To capture very detailed video and 3D fields of whatever the worker does. There are multiple configurations. They are given different tasks to do. They don’t know where the tasks come from. Multiple squads are working on three shifts 24 hours a day. Similar efforts were seen at the Texas factory. The data collection effort is immense. A Tesla car only has nine cameras. This leads to a data flywheel that is orders of magnitude more data than the car captured. Separate teams are capturing home data, like making a sandwich, while other teams capture jobs on factory floor, like installing HVAC systems in cars. Elon isn’t playing around. I can’t tell you how I learned this.

Turns out @Bot is really good at making games. Someone used it to rebuild Blastar, the space shooter @elonmusk built at 12 and sold to a magazine for $500. Now you can play it right here on X!

My picture! Am the 79th user. Serendipity happens in San Francisco. Wasn’t even there to see them. Another founder introduced me to them: “you gotta try what these two have built.” Taught me about the pattern of your peers recommending you. When you find it you invariably have a winner.

Inside real Silicon Valley. Inside the semiconductor company, Ambarella, that makes cameras better. Inside your GoPro, for instance. This is part of my homework to understand the robotics ecosystem in Silicon Valley (this company is in Santa Clara) and San Francisco better. What do they make? A tiny chip that runs AI models while using very low power. This is long but is a college-level class on the chips that will power a lot of robots. And anything that uses cameras. Drones, autonomous vehicles, medical devices, AI glasses, and more. @Ambarella_Inc and @muneyb thanks!
