Anthropic PBC has quietly presented its own draft AI safety bill to US lawmakers with a plan for regulating artificial intelligence safety and security, according to a Politico report.
According to Politico, the proposal suggests the government could block the release of an AI model if it’s determined to imminently risk killing or injuring more than 50 people or causing more than $1 billion in damages. The threat must be a result of the model creating or releasing a biological weapon, the AI going beyond human control or a cyberattack, Politico reported.
