The US Treasury announced its first penalty under outbound investment rules, fining Plug and Play parent Amidi $200,000 for failing to report its Chinese subsidiary's roughly $92,478 investment in robotics AI startup Noematrix.
The fine exceeds twice the investment. Treasury identified a reporting violation; it did not say the transaction was prohibited or allege wrongdoing by Noematrix.
